Get Help

If you feel like you need help right now, here is what the government advises in New Zealand.

If you feel you or someone else is at risk or harm, then phone the emergency services free on 111. Click here for info on the emergency services

If you’re near the hospital and the situation is serious but not life threatening, you may choose to take the person yourself - click here for Ministry of Health's guide to when to visit an emergency department

Each District Health Board has a Mental Health Crisis Team - to find yours, visit mentalhealth.org.nz/get-help/in-crisis/

You can also phone or text 1737 - this is a free, national service for all New Zealanders operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and talk with a trained counsellor. 1737.org.nz.
